Guy at the Lincoln plant told me he runs 1200 rpm on 6061 with a 1/2 end mill and I just nodded
I was picking up a pallet of blanks at his shop on Tuesday and he mentioned that like it was nothing. Back at my place I barely push 800 on the same setup because that is what the old hands taught me. Ran his numbers on a scrap plate after lunch and the finish came out cleaner and the cycle was almost 2 minutes faster. Am I leaving speed on the table on everything or does this fall apart once the tool gets some wear on it?
