I compared my town's recycling drop-off to the curbside pickup in Boulder, and the difference shocked me
Last month I drove 20 minutes to our town's single drop-off site and watched a guy toss a whole bag of greasy pizza boxes into the paper bin. When I visited my sister in Boulder, I saw they have 5 separate bins at every curb with pictures on the lids, and people actually sort right there. One study I read put their waste diversion rate near 50 percent, while my town sits around 12 percent. Does anyone know a simple way to get better signs or bins without a whole city budget?
