Question about the mouse family living in my buddy's '67 Impala for 8 months
My buddy parked his '67 Impala in a barn outside of Ames last October thinking it was safe, and when we pulled the cover off last week it looked like a tiny apartment complex had moved in. There were three nests made from the headliner, a stash of dog food under the back seat, and I swear one of them had chewed a path through the wiring harness like a little subway system. He's out maybe $400 in parts and a full weekend of cleaning, and the car still smells like something died in the vents. The weird part is the mice ignored the trunk completely, which had a tarp over it, so I'm starting to think the tarp trick actually works. He's talking about mothballs and dryer sheets now, and I told him that sounds like old wives' tales. What's actually kept the little guys out of your storage spots, because I have a Nova going in that same barn in a month.
