Appreciation post: I finally saw the point of a full video inspection

For years, I just used a mirror and a light to check my work after a sweep. A guy I work with in Springfield got a new camera system and showed me a video from a job last week. The before shot had a hidden crack in the flue liner you couldn't see with a mirror. After the repair, the after shot showed a perfect, clean surface. That one video convinced me to save up for a camera. It turns a guess into a sure thing for the homeowner. Has anyone else had a specific find with a camera that changed a job?

Honestly, wesleyb20 is right, but that visual proof is for you as much as the client.

How much did that camera run you?

Absolutely, it changes everything. We found a partial blockage in a lateral line that a mirror just showed as shadow. The camera proved it was roots and not a collapse, saving the client a huge dig-up quote. That visual proof lets you give a firm answer instead of an estimate based on a hunch. It builds trust fast when you can show the problem and then show the fix. Took me too long to get one too, best money I ever spent on the truck.
