The installer in Amarillo who told me to stop guessing yardage and start drawing rooms on paper
Last month I was on a 3 room job in Amarillo and the homeowner's brother, who did carpet for 22 years, watched me eyeball a hallway and told me 'you're buying padding twice.' He said he draws every room on graph paper before he ever cuts, and when I tried it on a 14x18 living room I came in with almost no waste. Do you all sketch it out first or just run the tape and hope for the best?
