Watched a guy cut dovetails with a handsaw at a job site in Toledo last week and it hit me how much I lean on my router jig now
I was doing trim work on a porch rebuild off Monroe Street and the lead guy, Dale, knocked out a full drawer box by hand in about 20 minutes while I was still setting up my jig. Fifteen years ago that would've been me, but somewhere along the way I stopped reaching for the backsaw. Not saying the jig is wrong, it's faster on a run of 10 drawers, but watching him made me wonder what I've lost. Anybody here still cut them by hand on smaller jobs, or did you all move on too?
