PSA: I built cabinets off a story pole for 12 years before I finally switched to a laser and I am not going back
For over a decade I marked every cabinet run with a story pole cut on site, the way the old guys at the shop in Tulsa showed me. Last month I picked up a cheap rotary laser and shot a level line across a 22 foot wall in about 90 seconds, no pencil marks, no creeping error from one box to the next. My installs got faster and my reveals are tighter, but I still keep the pole behind the truck seat. Anyone else made the jump, or are you all still cutting poles?
