I always thought sanding between coats was optional until I messed up a big job last month

I was working on a custom built-in bookshelf for a client in Portland and skipped sanding between primer and paint to save time. Figured it wouldn't matter since the primer looked smooth enough. But after three coats the finish had these tiny bumps that caught the light from every angle. Client called it out and I had to strip the whole thing back down. Took me an extra 12 hours to fix. Has anyone else learned this lesson the hard way or am I the only one who tried to cut corners?

Did you forget to hit "skip" on purpose or are you just living life on the edge like that...
