Boss wanted 16 penny nails on the top plate, I switched to screws and he found out
We were framing a garage in Tacoma last spring and the lead kept pushing 16s because they're faster, but the header kept shifting on us every time we set a truss. I grabbed 3 inch structural screws for the whole top plate, it took 20 extra minutes but the walls squared up dead on. He chewed me out at first, then the inspector asked who did the framing, so what would you have done?
