Warning: my resume rewrite made things worse for 3 months
Everyone says to rewrite your resume before applying, but after 6 months of sending out 90 applications with no calls, I reverted to my old one and got 3 interviews in 2 weeks. Turns out the fancy version buried my job titles under buzzwords, so what actually got me in the door?

Kept job titles front and center on the last rewrite and that alone got me callbacks after months of silence. Recruiters and those auto screeners scan for the title first, so if it's hiding under a wall of buzzwords they just skip you. Go back to whatever version shows your actual role and dates clearly, then trim the fluff.
