Saw a petition outside a Boise bookstore to pull a 2019 memoir, half the folks signing had not read it
I was walking down 8th Street in Boise last Saturday and there was a table set up outside Rediscovered Books with 60 or so signatures on a clipboard to get a memoir pulled from the shelves. A guy handing out flyers said the author said something messed up on a podcast in 2021, but when I asked him which episode he just said 'look it up.' Another woman there said she read the book twice and still thinks it should stay, since the author already lost her speaking gigs and apologized. Do you all think pulling a 4 year old book is fair payback, or does it just punish the store and the readers?
