Just realized I spent 2 years cleaning focus screens with the wrong solvent
A guy dropped off a Nikon FM2 last month with a screen I'd cleaned maybe a dozen times, and under my loupe I could still see a faint swirl pattern from my 99% isopropyl rubdowns. Turns out the old-timer at the counter in Pasadena was mixing in a drop of distilled water and a dab of dish soap for a reason, and my straight alcohol was slowly clouding the plastic. What's your go-to mix for focus screens that won't leave a haze?
