I was at a parts swap in Reno a few weeks back and got talking to a guy who ran a repair bench for 30 years before he hung it up. He asked what was on my bench and I listed off five jobs, including a sticky aperture on a beat up 50mm that I've had sitting there for 3 months. He laughed and said he used to do the same thing until he figured out the hard way that every hour on a $60 repair is an hour not spent on the $300 jobs. That hit me because I keep telling myself I'll get to the good stuff once the small stuff clears out, and it never does. So now I'm trying to decide what to actually turn away. How do you all draw that line without feeling like you're just being greedy?
