Pro tip: I finally stopped using my toner probe on coax after a 3 hour call in Fresno
Used to swear a tone generator was the only way to trace a buried line, until a dead coax run at an old house in Fresno ate 3 hours of my Tuesday because the tone bled onto every other cable in the bundle. A 20 dollar barrel and a cheap continuity tester would have found it in 10 minutes flat, and I have been carrying one in my pouch since. Anybody else got a cheap tool that beat the fancy one on a job?
