Paid $1,850 for a bonded T1 line in 2019 and it was the worst money I ever spent
Back in 2019 my small print shop in Columbus was losing orders because our cable internet kept dropping during big uploads, so I signed a 3 year deal for a bonded T1 at $1,850 a month because the sales guy promised 99.99% uptime and a dedicated line. Turned out the max speed was 3 Mbps down, which meant sending a 200 MB file to a client took almost 10 minutes, slower than the $80 cable plan I ditched. I kept it for 14 months before I ate the $2,300 early termination fee just to get out, and I still get mad thinking about that sales call. A guy I know runs a food truck and had the same thing happen with a fixed wireless setup in a bad spot, so I know I'm not alone here. Now I just ask for real speed test screenshots from other businesses on the same block before I sign anything. Did any of you get locked into a long contract that looked great on paper but tanked your actual work?
