Just realized I sunk $340 into a "friendship coach" in Portland and she told me to text my ex
So back in March I was feeling pretty low after cutting off a buddy of 12 years over some dumb money stuff, and I found this woman on Instagram who calls herself a "friendship coach." Three sessions, $340 total, and here is what she gave me: a worksheet with a sad cartoon carrot on it, and advice to "reach out and see what happens." I'm not kidding, that was the whole plan. She also kept calling my ex-friend my "growth edge," which I guess is therapy talk for someone who owes you $600. The funniest part is she asked me to do a "closure ritual" where I write a letter and then burn it in a fire safe bowl she sells for $45. I did not buy the bowl. I did however text the guy after session two because she talked me into it, and he left me on read for 3 weeks and then asked if I wanted to split a storage unit. So yeah, that bridge is staying burned and my $340 went to a carrot worksheet. Has anybody found an actual cheap way to work through stuff like this, or is the real answer just time and cheap beer with your other friends?
