My library's archive had a 1980s productivity pamphlet that basically described bullet journaling

It was a Xeroxed thing called 'The Index Card System' from 1987, and the core method is nearly identical to rapid logging. Has anyone else stumbled on an old system that predates Ryder Carroll?

Yeah, I found my dad's old lab notebooks from the 90s. Dude was rapid logging his experiments before it had a name.

Wow, even my grandpa's day planner was basically bullet journaling.
