Bangkok trip changed my mind on taxi use

I used to avoid taxis like the plague to save cash. Now I check prices first because they can be a deal in busy cities.

Yeah, checking prices first is key. I started doing that in heavy traffic and realized taxis often beat ride-share surge pricing. It just saves the headache sometimes.

Actually, @xena767, taxis have peak rates too during busy times, not just apps. Still, checking both is the move for sure.

Notice how we often assume newer apps are always better. This happens with streaming services and food delivery too, where the old way sometimes wins if you check. It's a good reminder not to get stuck in one habit.
