Hitting 10,000 free downloads on my pattern made me sit down

I posted a crochet pattern for a weird hat back in March mostly as a joke, and last night the counter ticked past 10,000 downloads with zero paid promotion. I spent 3 hours just staring at the comments, people from Brazil to Norway saying they made it for their cats. Has anyone else hit a random milestone like this that felt way bigger than it should have?
