My pothos put out 7 new leaves in one week after I moved it 3 feet, still confused
Last week I moved my golden pothos from the hallway shelf to the kitchen counter, mostly because I was tired of bumping it with the vacuum. Within six days it pushed out seven new leaves, which is more than it did the entire past 4 months, and one leaf even has a little fenestration starting. Nothing else changed, same watering on Sundays, same tap water from the same jug I let sit out. It sits maybe 3 feet closer to the window now, so I think it was just starving for light this whole time. Has anyone else had a plant finally wake up from a tiny move like that, or am I reading too much into one good week?
This is such a common thing with pothos and people always blame themselves when really the plant was just stuck in a bad spot for months. Three feet closer to a window is a huge jump in light for a plant, way more than it sounds like, because light drops off fast the farther you get from the glass. Same thing happens with people, honestly. You sit in the wrong room, the wrong job, the wrong group of friends for a year and feel half dead, then one small change and suddenly everything clicks and you wonder why you waited so long. That one good week is not a fluke either, watch what it does over the next month because it probably just found the spot it wants to live in.
