The guy at the tire shop in Boise told me my brakes were fine, and the look on his face 2 weeks later is what I cannot shake
Two weeks ago I was heading out of Boise on I-84 when a guy in a lifted truck cut over three lanes and I had to stand on the pedal. The car stopped, but it made a grinding sound I had never heard before. The next morning I took it to a shop and the mechanic told me my pads had maybe 10 percent left, which was strange because the tire place had checked them 6 weeks earlier and told me they were "good for another year." I stood there in the waiting room holding the estimate for $340 and just kept going back to that moment at the counter. I am not sure if the first guy missed it, guessed, or just wanted me out the door faster. Has anyone else been told something was fine and then found out it was not? I would like to know if this is common or if I just got unlucky.
