My buddy says skipping the pilot episode is fine and I think that ruins the whole show
He started Breaking Bad at episode 3 last month because someone told him the pilot is 'slow,' and now he thinks Walter White was always a jerk from day one, so who's right here, does the pilot actually matter or can you jump in anywhere?

Skipping the pilot because it's "slow" is wild, that's like me skipping breakfast because it takes too long and then wondering why I'm starving by noon. The pilot is the whole reason his jerk side even lands, you're supposed to see him as a normal guy first. Your buddy basically read the last page of a mystery and is now confused about the clues.
