TIL the 20 minute rule saved me from quitting my new job in Denver
Two months ago I moved to Denver for a job at a bakery on South Broadway and by week two I was ready to pack up and go home. A guy there named Marcus told me to give it 20 minutes every morning before I decided it was awful, just 20 minutes of kneading dough before I let myself hate it. I did that for 6 weeks and somewhere in there the nerves went away. If you've made a big move and wanted to bail early, what actually got you through the first couple months?
Man, the 20 minute thing is real! When I moved for my first apartment I gave myself one small routine every morning before I let the panic win, and after a few weeks the scary stuff just felt normal.
