My grandpa's 1978 tape recorder ate the only copy of his welding stories
The reel snapped mid-playback last Tuesday while I was digitizing it in my kitchen, and I sat there for 20 minutes just staring at the tangle. Now I'm hunting for a repair shop near Columbus that still touches reel-to-reel, so has anyone found a way to save a snapped tape or am I stuck with the first 6 minutes?

Twenty minutes staring at a tape tangle is rough, but a snapped reel can usually be spliced back together at the break.
