My dad's 2 AM advice about the engine knock saved me $900

He told me over the phone in Dallas to check the oil pressure sender before touching the engine. I ignored him for three days, threw parts at it, and the knock got worse. Have you ever trusted a parent's car advice over a shop's diagnosis and wished you hadn't waited?

Honestly, did you ever actually check that oil pressure sender before the shop did?
