Got humbled by a 16 year old at my own barber chair yesterday
Kid comes in with his dad for a buzz cut and starts telling me how my fade line was too soft on his last cut. I laughed it off until he pulled up a photo from his phone showing exactly what he meant. He walked me through a clipper-over-comb technique he learned from a barber school YouTube channel, and now I'm wondering if I've been overthinking skin fades for the last decade. Anyone else had a young client teach them something that actually stuck?

You ever have one of those moments where you just gotta sit back and respect it? Those kids grew up with YouTube and they watch EVERYTHING. I had a young guy show me a better way to blend a low skin fade using a thinner guard than I ever messed with. Now I tell my newer clients to bring me their favorite barber's page on social media so I can see what style they're chasing. It saves everyone time and honestly, it keeps me sharp. Don't sweat it, just take the win and add it to your bag.
