A barber in Austin showed me a better way to hold my clippers during fades

I was in Austin last month for a family thing and stopped into this small shop to get a trim. The guy working on me, older dude, said I was gripping my clippers like a steering wheel and showed me this lighter finger grip he uses for the curve around the ear. Tried it on my next 3 clients back home and my hand fatigue is way down, plus the blend is smoother. Has anyone else picked up a habit from watching another barber work that they never would have figured out on their own?
