My grandma watched me weigh flour for the first time and asked why I was doing dishes before baking
So my grandma came over Saturday to help me make her banana bread recipe, and she caught me pulling out the kitchen scale and tare-ing the bowl like I always do. She laughed and said she has been baking that same loaf for 50 years and has never once weighed a single thing, just scoops it with the same chipped coffee mug every time. I tried her mug method side by side with my scale version and honestly hers came out taller and softer than mine, which kind of blew my mind. Now I am wondering if I have been over thinking this whole thing. Anyone else had a relative school them on baking with zero measuring tools?
