Dropped $45 on a cheap kitchen scale after 3 lopsided cakes, and I'm still not sure it fixed anything
Side A says a $45 digital scale from the restaurant supply place on 3rd Street is the only reason my cakes finally stopped sinking in the middle. Side B says I just got better at folding batter and the scale is a $45 paperweight. Here's what actually happened: batch one cracked, batch two dome collapsed, batch three was a flat pancake, then I bought the scale and batch four came out fine. But I also switched to weighing flour instead of scooping at the same time, so I have no clue which one did it. Did a scale ever actually fix your bakes, or did you just change another thing at the same time and give the scale the credit?
