Spent 11 hours last weekend rewriting one paragraph because my critique group kept saying it was confusing
Turns out the problem was I had three different characters doing three different things in one sentence, and I only figured that out after my friend Dana read it out loud at our Tuesday meetup in Sacramento and we both got lost halfway through, so now I want to know if anyone else here has a trick for catching that kind of mess before you waste a whole weekend on it.
