My new patio string lights came down in a storm last night
I mean, I just put them up three days ago and thought they were secure. Woke up this morning and half the line was on the ground, tangled in my rosemary bush. I spent like an hour untangling them and checking the clips. Turns out the plastic hooks I used on the fence just couldn't handle the wind. Has anyone found a better way to hang these things that actually holds up?

Ugh that is the WORST feeling. Those plastic hooks are useless in real wind. I had to switch to the metal screw-in cup hooks for my fence.

Nah, I've had the metal ones fail on me too honestly. I just use heavy duty zip ties now, loop them right around the fence post.

Seriously? Zip ties are just plastic, they get brittle and snap in the cold. Metal hooks with the screw base are the only thing that lasts.
