Unpopular opinion: building the raised bed out of free pallet wood beat the $180 cedar kit I bought 2 years ago
A guy at the ReStore in Tucson told me pallets get heat treated instead of chemically treated now, so I grabbed 6 for nothing and the bed is holding up fine after one full summer of tomatoes, has anyone else gone the free wood route or am I just cheap?

Just check for the HT stamp, some pallets still get sprayed with methyl bromide.
