Full harness tape or speed tape, picked wrong at 2 AM in Orlando

Had a cracked sensor housing on a ramp call and grabbed speed tape out of habit, then realized the vibration was gonna shred it before dawn. Swapped to the full harness wrap and it held fine, but now I'm curious, how many of you trust speed tape for anything past a quick grounding fix?

Keep the speed tape for the stuff that actually grounds something or covers a sharp edge for one flight. It just doesn't hold up to any real vibration or heat for more than a few hours. The harness wrap takes two extra minutes and saves you from doing the job twice, especially when the sun comes up and the inspectors are walking the line. Also, check the tape's temp rating next time, that's what bit me on a exhaust shroud once. You made the right call swapping it, that cracked housing would've flapped all over the ramp by 6 AM.
