An old timer at the Tulsa hangar showed me a trick with cannon plugs that I still think about
Back when I was maybe 2 years into the trade, I was fighting a cannon plug on a Navajo in Tulsa and cussing up a storm trying to get the pins to seat right. This old guy named Ray, had to be 40 years in avionics, walked over, didn't say a word, just took my pin inserter and showed me how to rotate it a quarter turn before pushing. Took him 3 seconds to do what I'd been fighting for 20 minutes. He just said "son, the tool's got a sweet spot, you gotta feel for it" and walked off. I still hear that every time I'm on a stubborn connector. Any of you guys have an old timer who dropped one of those little gems on you?
