Shoutout to the Ask Anything crowd, how do you actually pick a movie to watch nowadays?
I used to grab whatever looked good off the shelf at Blockbuster with my roommate back in 2004, zero planning, just vibes and maybe a bag of Twizzlers. Now I sit on my couch for 25 minutes scrolling three different apps and still end up watching the same comfort movie I have seen at least 40 times. Last Friday I pulled up Netflix, Hulu, and Prime at the same time on my phone while my wife waited, and we landed on a documentary about cheese caves in Missouri out of pure exhaustion. I honestly miss the old way of just grabbing something and being stuck with it, because at least the night started at 8 instead of 8:40. The weird part is I have more choices than ever and somehow feel less excited about any of them. Does anyone else just default to rewatching old stuff instead of picking something new? And if you have a system that actually works, what is it?
