Question about that 2019 dig near Tucson where my trowel hit a pot and the grad student almost cried
So back in spring 2019 I was volunteering on a survey project about 40 miles south of Tucson, and I scraped up what turned out to be a whole painted bowl, intact. The grad student running our unit grabbed it without bagging it first and we didn't get a scale weight or a photo with the tag in frame, so now the report just says "small painted bowl, probable historic period" with no context. I brought it up at the lab meeting last month and got a shrug. How do you all handle it when a find gets logged badly by someone above you, do you push back or just let the records stay sloppy?
