That one Wednesday in Wichita nearly broke me
Started the day with a washing machine that had poured water all over a customer's new hardwood floor, then the second call was a fridge compressor that was shot on a 10 year old model. By 3pm I had three angry voicemails from people asking why I was late, but I couldn't get to them because my van's alternator died on I-135. Has anyone else had a single day where every job just compounds on itself like that, or was I just the unlucky guy in a 50 mile radius?

You said he got off easy, but nobody’s talking about the part where he had to choose between fixing a customer’s floor and answering three voicemails while sitting on the shoulder of I-135. That’s not just a bad day, that’s a moral gut punch. You can’t call a tow truck and reschedule jobs without knowing somebody’s gonna post a one star review about you being unreliable. And the floor? That’s not a quick fix, that’s water damage that keeps showing up in photos weeks later. The alternator dying was the easy part, the real weight was knowing you let people down before noon even hit.

You really think that Wednesday was bad? Sounds like a light day compared to what most of us deal with on the regular. Getting three angry voicemails means you actually had people waiting on you, which means you had work lined up. The alternator dying on I-135 is just a Tuesday for anyone who's been in this game longer than a year. Honestly, you got off easy if that's what "nearly broke" you.
