Spent $150 on a blu-ray box set just to find out the dub was wrong

So I finally bought the complete series of that mecha show I've been chasing since high school, figured the physical copy would have the original dub track I remembered. Popped in disc two and the voices are all different, they must have redone it for the re-release and ditched the old audio. Now I'm stuck with a pretty shelf piece that I basically can't watch without cringing, and the digital version I stream for free has the right dub anyway. Anyone else get burned by anime box sets that swap out the voice actors without saying anything?
