That timeline map from my old textbook got replaced and the new one tells a different story
My nephew brought home his world history book last month and I flipped to the map of Europe after WWI, and it looks nothing like the one I studied in 1998 at Central High in Omaha. Whole chunks of the Ottoman breakup that used to be one shaded color are now split into five, and the notes at the bottom cut the mandate system down to a single line. Same publisher, same grade level, but about 40 percent less about how the borders got drawn. If the next version goes any further, kids won't be able to picture the setup that made the 1930s make sense. Has anyone else compared an older edition to a new one?
