Stopped at a gas station in Tulsa and the clerk showed me his CCTV setup, now I'm rethinking my whole panel layout
Was driving through Tulsa last Tuesday and stopped for gas off I-44. The clerk had a little 8 camera monitor behind the counter, clean as anything, no wires showing. I asked who did it and he said he did it himself after two break-ins. He ran every cable through conduit, labeled both ends with tape, and left a service loop at each camera. I've been installing 12 years and my own panels look sloppier than a gas station in Oklahoma. Started redoing my van's cable management the next morning with the same label method. Anyone else pick up tricks from random strangers like that?
Man I feel this hard. I got humbled by a retired electrician at a laundromat in Amarillo who had his breaker panel labeled with a label maker down to the amp draw on each circuit, and my own panel at home looks like a spaghetti mess next to his. Its wild how the guys who do this for free in their spare time sometimes care more than the pros do. Keep that label method going, it pays off every time you have to trace a line at 2am.
