Just logged my 500th torque check on a single engine overhaul
It was on a Lycoming IO-360, and the number hit me because I remember my first one ten years ago feeling like a huge deal. Now it's just part of the flow, but it shows how much repetition builds that muscle memory. Do you guys ever track a specific task count, and does it change how you feel about the work?

Muscle memory" is so real. I don't track tasks, but I once had to do the same simple bracket install on like twenty planes in a row. By the end I could do it with my eyes closed, which was good because I was so bored.

I stopped counting my safety wire twists after the first hundred or so. My personal record is one perfect pigtail on the third try, which felt like winning the lottery. Most of the time I'm just happy if I don't stab myself with the pliers.
