Dropped $120 on that fancy air fryer liner set and honestly it just makes everything soggy now
I bought one of those silicone air fryer liner sets for about $120 after seeing a ton of videos about how they save cleanup time. Used them for two months on wings, fries, and roasted veggies, but everything came out soft and steamed instead of crispy because the liners block the airflow from the bottom. Switched back to just spraying the basket with oil and the difference in crunch was night and day, especially on potato wedges at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Now the liners are sitting in a drawer and I feel dumb for buying them. Does anyone actually get crispy results with these things, or did I just waste my money?
I read somewhere that those liners basically turn your air fryer into a steamer since they block the holes on the bottom. Seems like the whole point of the thing is air moving around the food, so covering the basket kind of fights that. Sounds like you already found the answer by going back to just oil and the basket.
