Dropped $400 on an AI writing tool for my small bakery blog and it sat unused for 5 months
Back in January I paid $400 for a year of this AI tool that was supposed to write my bakery blog posts for me. I run a small shop in Portland and thought it would save me time, but the stuff it churned out sounded like a robot describing a croissant, so I just kept writing everything myself. Last month I finally sat down and fed it my own old posts as examples, and now it actually sounds like me, which took maybe 20 minutes to set up. I'm kicking myself for waiting so long, but I'm also wondering if anyone else had to basically teach these things your own voice before they were useful. What was your first real win with one of these tools, and did it take way longer than you expected?
