My PTO shaft let go 40 feet from the tractor and I had to figure out why
I was baling hay on the Sawyer place outside Hastings last Tuesday when the shear bolt on my 540 PTO let go with a bang that scared the horses, and after I shut down and swapped in a Grade 5 bolt instead of the hardened one my neighbor keeps handing out, it ran fine for the last 12 acres, so does anyone else keep a coffee can of spares in the toolbox or am I the only one who learned this the loud way?
